The origin of the name is rather unexpected. We wanted a play on words with the term code review to express the analysis of existing code with the aim of improving it. After testing several words, goat came out on top for its double meaning: goat in the sense of being a goat, which means to be bad in french, and GOAT in the sense of Greatest Of the All Time.
GoatReview therefore stands for revisions to improve development.
